Clevertar are experts in designing and developing custom solutions and relational agents – ‘clever avatars’ – for healthcare. Relational agents have been shown to attract attention, encourage healthy living, improve adherence to medication and treatment, motivate and empower users.

Our platform is designed to support custom solutions, for example, in long term health coaching, to engage, monitor, and educate consumers.

My Diabetes Coach

Clevertar is the technology provider for the My Diabetes Coach (MDC) virtual health coach system.

Built through a collaboration between the Bupa Health Foundation, The University of Melbourne and Diabetes Australia, the MDC system comprises a virtual health coach named Laura who delivers regular health coaching to people with type 2 diabetes via their iOS or Android smart phone or tablet devices. Laura also receives blood glucose readings, monitoring the consumer over time, and sending alerts to the case manager when concerns arise.

Return to Work Coach

Rethinko is using Clevertar Digital Coaches to educate, empower, and improve the life of those who have suffered a physical workplace injury. Once downloaded and installed, Clevertar Digital Coaches gives the injured worker plain English interactive training in the overall return to work process and can help answer questions.

The app offers stakeholders a means to monitor the return to work process and measure worker engagement in a way that is self-determined by the worker and far less invasive. It also provides additional evidence and broader information in real time for improved decision making and greater understanding. Most importantly, it provides additional on-demand support for workers on both the behavioural and social level that is cost-effective. This prevents adversarial like relationships from developing and promotes shared-interests while bringing a more human-side to a system often viewed as process driven and repressive.
